Christmas gifts...

firstly, to all those who showed love to me, thanks. i really appreciate each and every one of you people. =)

I was thinking back on a post which i read a few weeks back... basically, i was thinking, Christmas, is a time where you show people you love them and hence, give them gifts of love for christmas. but ever felt like it's all so cliche? giving and receiving christmas presents... not that i'm complaining, but like i said, i appreciate everybody's effort.

You know, there are 5 love languages afterall, right? words of affirmation, gifts of love, acts of service, spending quality time with loved ones, and physical touch. in christmas, people often give gifts of love, and to the closer friends, letters or cards filled with words of affirmation. the other 3 aren't very commonly given during christmas.

Well, this christmas, i had my fair share of gifts from all over the place, a few cards, and 1 person who initiated to spend time with me.. (i believe you're reading this and you meant for it to be more of a catching up session over dinner, but it meant more to me, so yah, thanks!) and to those who wrote cards/ letters for me, i do treasure them too... in fact, i keep every single one of them. =) and to those who gave gifts, thanks for the effort of baking, packing and even thinking out of the box... i really really do appreciate every one of you. THANKS EVERYBODY!

I thought to myself, sometimes, going beyond just giving a gift may mean more to others.

I do normally write cards to others, however, i didn't this year, other than a handful... i didn't really write any because i was busy.

acts of service? well, i'm still thinking how to put that into practice too. haha...

spending time? maybe some would prefer me spending time with them, taking out time for them. i read this from a poster, "I value friends who find time in their calendar for me, but i treasure those, who for me, don't consult their calendar." an interesting thought isn't it?

or maybe, a hug?

well, just some thoughts...
